New topic for Year 9 from next week

We did not get to this today but this video gives you a sneak preview of the focus of our next lesson, the first full lesson on our new topic of Water.

Year 9 lesson today - 19/1/12

Big thanks to the girls in today's Year 9 lesson who made for such a positive atmosphere. It was great to hear so much discussion on the possible impact that access to water might have on development.

The homework we discussed is below, including the link - you can do either option (if doing Option B you do not need to actually tweet me, although you can if you wish @geographymri).

Good luck, and let me know if you want any help.

Year 9 GCSE Geography Homework (for Wed 25th Jan)
Option A:
To find out more about 1 project that WaterAid run in your given country.

Prepare to give a 30 second summary of the project next lesson that focuses on:

  • Where the project is.
  • What has happened or is happening as part of the project.
  • What impact has there been (what has happened because of the project).
  • You can start your research on the main WaterAid website:

Option B:
Access to clean water and sanitation is often referred to as an issue of huge importance for women. From your research on the WaterAid website and elsewhere, tweet me your opinion about this issue (140 characters max, spaces and punctuation don't count this time!)

Apologies for the typo....

Of course you all spotted the fact that there were indeed no super stealthy mountains in the area...I meant sneak peek and not peak as in mountain top.

Learning point/note to self - don't post later in the evening after a long Monday!
